Hello
User-centered design has always been my pursuit. All of my design inspiration comes from my daily life. I enjoy discussing the principles we pursue: convenience, friendliness, and aesthetics—with my friends.

About Me
My Story
I graduated with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (Honors) from UNSW, where I developed a deep understanding of Australia's land and environmental issues. Working closely with the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA), I contributed to projects reimagining urban spaces to enhance livability and promote community well-being. This experience gave me a strong foundation in sustainable, human-centered design—skills I bring to each project to shape vibrant, resilient urban landscapes.

Expectations When Joining The Master
Despite my background in landscape architecture, I am excited to have entered the Master's program in Interaction Design. Both programs are design-based, and I am eager to explore new concepts and technical skills unique to interaction design.Coding was an area that initially worried me, and I never touched it. I spent much time teaching myself to code. Icoding is essential for creating dynamic visuals and engaging user experiences. Before starting my studies at the University of Sydney, I look forward to the inspiration and new perspectives a new environment will bring. This vibrant academic community will allow me to make new and meaningful connections with classmates and tutors. Such an environment is perfect for promoting personal growth and collaborative learning.

Key Learning Experiences
Over the past year and a half in the Master of Interaction Design program, I’ve gained skills that have transformed my design approach. Strengthening my foundation in design theory and enhancing my collaborative skills were incredibly impactful, demonstrating how effective teamwork, with clear communication, can drive outstanding results. This experience reinforced the value of collaboration as a core design process component. Exploring application interface design was another major area of growth, introducing me to new challenges. Initially, I found it difficult to navigate each design phase and fully appreciate the role of user testing. However, I soon adopted a more structured approach, using iterative feedback to guide improvements. This experience taught me that effective interfaces are shaped through continuous refinement, ensuring they evolve to meet real user needs.

Three Top Practical Skills
Figma: I first encountered Figma during my Master’s studies. It’s a highly versatile tool for designing app interfaces. I found it easy to learn due to its comprehensive features. Figma introduced me to the joy of creating mobile app interfaces, which was far more enjoyable than I had imagined. I especially loved the process of having friends test the interfaces I created. Canva: This is currently my favorite tool for layout design, which I also started learning during my Master’s program. Having experience with Indesign helped me pick up Canva very quickly. I find Canva helpful in gathering design inspiration and selecting color schemes. It has become my go-to tool for creating visual posters, as it’s quick and convenient. Visual Studio Code: Learning to code was a slow process since I started from scratch, so I relied on many tutorial videos for guidance. Coding felt like playing a game of Minesweeper, where I constantly had to troubleshoot bugs to get my code to function correctly. Now, I can use code to create simple lighting effects, visual elements, and interactive interface features, which I find fascinating.

Three Top Theoretical Concepts
In my master of Interaction Design study, these three design theories significantly shaped my way of thinking when creating thoughtful, user-centered design: Ethical awareness and responsibility: Through the "Moral Agent" approach, I learned to consider ethical implications in design decisions. In addition to focusing on functional and business goals, I learned to prioritize design's social and ethical impact so that each project aligns with the values of the team and users. Understanding User Behavior: I learned the skills to strategically guide user interactions with the "Design with Intent" toolkit. With insights from behavioral psychology, sociology, and cognitive science, I designed experiences that both encouraged desired behavior and respected user autonomy. Risk awareness and scenario planning: I learned to anticipate potential adverse outcomes and identify ethical risks in advance of the design process through the "Black Mirror Brainstorm" approach. This technique has significantly improved my thinking about the possible misuse or unintended consequences of design, reassuring me that I can balance innovation with the safety and well-being of my users.
